Without a return to the self-worth of beauty, measure, and harmony; without the foundation of unlimited love and romance; without an insatiable curiosity for the truth about humanity and the universe; and without freedom of expression and creativity, no matter how many immediate vital needs are satisfied, humanity will remain empty, unbalanced, and disappointed.
The Marsilio Ficino Academy of Humanist Studies aims to revive the forgotten values of Renaissance Humanism and promote actions and initiatives to disseminate these ideas. These actions will include: displaying articles and texts that embody the humanistic spirit on the Academy's website, organizing free dialogue sessions, inviting scientists and philosophers to present their research, and publishing an annual electronic magazine with articles on art, philosophy, and science.
The Academy is a continuation of the Rinascimento Group, which was founded under the same ideals. It was deemed necessary to upgrade and expand the original effort in response to the critical conditions of the time.
Χωρίς την επιστροφή στην αυταξία του κάλλους, του μέτρου και της αρμονίας, χωρίς το υπόβαθρο της απεριόριστης αγάπης και του έρωτα, χωρίς την ακόρεστη περιέργεια για την αλήθεια που αφορά τον άνθρωπο και το σύμπαν, χωρίς την ελευθερία στην έκφραση και τη δημιουργικότητα, όσο και να ικανοποιούνται οι άμεσες βιοτικές ανάγκες, ο άνθρωπος θα μένει κενός, ανισόρροπος και απογοητευμένος.
Η Ακαδημία Ουμανιστικών Μελετών Marsilio Ficino έχει σαν στόχο να ξαναφέρει στο φως τις λησμονημένες αξίες του Αναγεννησιακού Ουμανισμού και να προωθήσει ενέργειες και δράσεις για τη διάδοση των ιδεών αυτών. Οι δράσεις αυτές θα περιλαμβάνουν: προβολη μέσω του ιστοτόπου της Ακαδημίας άρθρων και κειμένων θέσεων που εντάσσονται στο ουμανιστικό πνεύμα, οργάνωση ομιλιών ελεύθερου διαλόγου, πρόσκληση επιστημόνων και φιλοσόφων για παρουσίαση της έρευνάς τους καθώς και την ηλεκτρονική έκδοση ενός περιοδικού στο τέλος της χρονιάς με άρθρα περί τέχνης, φιλοσοφίας και επιστήμης.
Η Ακαδημία είναι συνέχεια της Ομάδας Rinascimento, η οποία είχε ιδρυθεί κάτω από τα ίδια ιδεώδη, καθώς κρίθηκε αναγκαία η αναβάθμιση και επέκταση της όλης προσπάθειας λόγω των κρίσιμων συνθηκών της εποχής.

"So far, humanism has experienced two important periods: one was Greek, and the other was the Renaissance. The second ended with Galileo and Newton. Now, we may be entering a third period of a new humanism. Inequality and dictatorship are not acceptable. I believe this humanism will include more collective manifestations, as we live in a society with enhanced communication capabilities. Let us hope that a more humanistic society will emerge."

«Ως τώρα ο ανθρωπισμός γνώρισε δύο σημαντικές περιόδους. Η μία ήταν ελληνική και η άλλη αναγεννησιακή. Η δεύτερη κατέληξε στον Γαλιλαίο και στον Νεύτωνα. Τώρα ίσως μπαίνουμε σε μια τρίτη περίοδο νέου ανθρωπισμού. Δεν είναι αποδεκτές η ανισότητα και η δικτατορία. Νομίζω πως αυτός ο ανθρωπισμός θα περιλαμβάνει πιο συλλογικές εκδηλώσεις, αφού ζούμε σε μια κοινωνία με αυξημένες δυνατότητες επικοινωνίας. Ας ελπίσουμε ότι θα φτιαχτεί μια πιο ανθρωπιστική κοινωνία»
